Basics of Investing in Bonds

There is need to understand the basics of investing in bonds as the gateway to a clear decision on whether to rely on such an investment or not. Bonds act as investment security representing the obligation of a debt between the borrower and the lender. Issuers in this case act as investors. Bonds are capable of paying a fixed rate which goes to the investors regularly. This is the reason as to why such bonds are referred to as a fixed income investment. A number of people do not have to buy bonds from issuers but one can be able to do this through mutual funds.
